From the estate of a former RCA Astro-Electronics Division employee, Leo Weinreb, director and manager of numerous Apollo TV camera projects. Back stamped “RCA ASTRA-ELECTRONICS DIV 71-9-519C PHOTO NEGATIVE NO.” Corresponding NASA negative number: AS15-88-11901 Notes: Rightward of 11900. Dave took this photo as part of a pan at the VIP site. It shows the Rover at it's final parking place. At the back, we can see the rake, but neither of the tongs. NASA created several sets of original Apollo negatives and provided sets to a select group of vital contractors including RCA. The original master negatives from space flown film were deemed too valuable to use for reproduction and were never used to create prints. This photograph was created with a negative identical to that used to create NASA red letter prints. RCA contractor Apollo photos have been sold as original by a number of leading auction houses including Christie’s and Sotheby’s.
