Pair Amazing New Years Postcard Watercolors w BlueJay / 3 X 4.5” / Framed

Description: For your consideration are a pair of wonderful antique hand painted New Year’s Eve postcards in watercolors. Artist is unknown as no signature present. Subject is a painting of blue jays with honeysuckle background on a cream colored postcard. The words Happy New Year are written on the cards. Artwork measures 3 x 4.5”. It’s in great shape with no conditions to note. Artwork is housed in its original frame which suits the artwork well. Frame is a thin gold frame. What was once probably white matting (now off white) extends from the frame to the artwork, helping protect this paper-based artwork. Both mats should be replaced given they are quite old, have a few water stains, and have worn to an unattractive color. Any framer can easily replace both mats for a nominal fee. Given artwork is in its original frames, and these are likely antique pieces, frames will have slight age related wear. Wear may include dings, scratches or nicks to the wood and gold paint. If age related wear is present, it will be minor and won’t detract in the least from the final presentation of these pieces. Apart from this, the frames are great with no other conditions to note. A NOTE ON GLASS: Glass breaks far too easily in transport. Many sellers remove glass prior to shipping so they do not disappoint the owner when the piece arrives broken. I do not want all of my buyers to have to run out and purchase glass for their new piece; however, please know that glass is not a part of this transaction. GLASS IN ARTWORK IS DONATED. Buyer does not purchase glass as part of the purchase price of this work. If you would like me to remove the glass prior to shipping, please let me know. Otherwise, I tape all glass so that in the event of breakage, it does not break into small pieces that can damage the artwork. Thank you for your understanding.
