Description: Up for auction is a professional restoration service for your existing Phase Linear 4000 preamplifier...........not the unit itself. You purchase the service and pay to ship the preamp down here (Florida) and the return shipping is only $20.00. Some things that can't be fixed due to lack of available parts are: broken rotary controls, toggle switches, missing knobs and some of the operational amplifier ICs. I've had very good success on these units if they haven't been serviced before. I replace all the electrolytic capacitors and resolder basically 100% of the molex connectors and the main board connection points. All the controls are treated with De-Oxit and the exterior is cleaned up. If your exterior cover is in poor condition I can offer a newly powder coated cover at no extra charge (may require an extra week or two if I don't have any in stock). Take a moment to look at the bottom of the unit and count the screws installed. If there are (12) then we are good to go.................anything less than that indicates a very early production model and I don't normally work on those (please contact be before on those units). Due to the high costs of shipping from state to state I just ask that you can troubleshoot and fix small problems at your location.......I'll help you out.
