Description: Rare 1948 Sears Robuck Silvertone Model 9116 Leatherette 7" Portable Television ~~ For Display, Repair or Parts ~~ Hard to find and unusual vertical snakeskin leatherette vintage portable television with 7 ” screen manufactured by Sears Roebuck in 1948. TV measures 17” tall, 10” wide, 19” deep and weighs 30 lbs. When plugged in, some tubes light up. (See pictures 16 & 17). Cosmetics are very good overall, most noticeable is fading and scuffs on the leatherette and the tarnished metal faceplate. Leatherette looks more orange/red in daylight and appears faded brown in indoor light. Complete with the original knobs, leather handle (Needs Replacement) and back. All knobs turn and operate as designed. Wood frame is solid. Leatherette needs some reattachment on bottom. See last two pictures. Due to the nature of vintage items, it is often the case they have seen use and been well loved by families in their previous life. In buying vintage, you will find scratches, scuffs, different colored patina or other 'evidence' of the items previous use. We don't see these issues as “flaws”.
