Description: T & V was a porcelain factory established by partners Gustave Vogt (1849-1937) and Émilien de Tressemanes. Their partnership began in 1882 when they ran the Limoges-based decorating firm founded in the 1850s by Gustavo’s father John Vogt. The factory produced high-quality whiteware for the American export market until 1919 when the business was taken over by another company. The green T & V Limoges mark was used from 1892-1907. From sometime in the 1800’s to 1924, if you visited Washington DC you could visit the National Remembrance Shop and buy souvenirs of your trip. Among other things, you could buy pieces of this Limoges china pattern made by Tressemanes & Vogt in France. It features the Presidential Seal on the cup with gold trim around the rims. I could find other pieces (mostly gravy boats) on the Web, but I couldn’t find a cup & saucer anywhere - that’s how rare they are. The saucer is 5.5 inches wide and the cup is 3.75 inches wide. Both are in near mint condition even after over 100 years.
