These were Referred to as, "LUNCHBOX COPPER," because they were taken home at random in employee's lunchboxes, with, (or without), management's permission. These particular anodes were castings that were made in the shape of the East Coast Style Finished anode. The West Coast Mines all poured, T-Shirt style anodes for shipping. These anodes have ALL THE ORIGINAL metals that were present in the ore that went into the smelter for that particular crucible pour. These may contain, (in addition to copper), Silver, Gold, Molybdenum, Zink, and other metals.... This paperweight has the BRIGHT RED FLUX ON THE BOTTOM The Smelter was closed in the early 2000's Kennecott sold out to Phelps Dodge in the 1980's, and they sold to Freeport MacMoran in the early 2000's.
