Description: A 4 1/2" tall square-shaped light PURPLE AMETHYST colored antique INDIAN ROOT BEER EXTRACT bottle. What's is unique about this bottle is the LIGHT purple amethyst COLOR as these bottles are almost always seen in an light AQUA MARINE color or a BROWN AMBER color. This is an ORIGINAL ANTIQUE hand Blown Into Mold bottle (BIM) with a tooled top, dating back into the 1800's. Bottle embossed: "INDIAN / ROOT BEER / EXTRACT". Condition: This bottle is in good clean condition. It has some traces of content haze and age wear, NO cracks, chips, dings, damage, etc. Please see pictures for overall appearance of bottle's condition. There is quite a variety of these antique Root Beer Extract bottles that come in 2 or 3 different colors. It was a concentrated syrup that, when added to 5 gallons of water, made a large batch of home made root beer. But what is great about it is that this product claimed to be a remedy and cure for many sicknesses and diseases, that the roots and herbs that the extract was made from, held great medicinal properties. Add to that the Indian name to this product and you have a quack medicine tonic. Back in the day when this bottle was in circulation, the Native American Indian was looked upon with much mystique.
