RAW ORGANIC HEMP ROLLING PAPERS - RAW Organic is made from organically grown* chlorine free pure hemp and is processed in an eco-friendly manner. The result is a very thin light tan paper that burns extra slow and extra clean. It uses the same proprietary crisscross run-preventing watermark as RAW Classic but the color is much lighter and varies depending on the shade of the hemp used in production. The taste of RAW Organic is unlike anything you have experienced. It is a clean tasting smoke that is best described as natural, light and pure. RAW TIPS - are made on an antique Fourdrinier paper machine. Whereas RAW papers are made in Alcoy Spain, RAW only has machines to produce thin paper in Alcoy. For the thick tipping paper we had to travel to an old paper mill in Northern China that was still using an original Fourdrinier. This was the only place we could find that still had one of these old machines in use, which we needed to make the special long-fiber paper for RAW tips. Want to know more? Modern paper mills use small-structure cellulose to make paper. The original paper mills used fiber instead. For tipping paper to perform best, it needs to be made from fiber – not just boiled cellulose. Fiber-based tips roll smooth AND have enough structural rigidity to both keep its shape in your mouth AND to not dissolve. There are precious few of the original Fourdrinier paper machines in use because they’re antiques and expensive to operate. We were lucky to find this old mill, it’s the only one in the world that can produce RAW tips to our specifications. It took him years to convince the German factory to make the first commercial shipment of this material. Sure we could probably save a ton of money by making our rollers in China like everyone else, but quality is more important than cost to both of us. RAW® Hemp Wick™ - Hemp is just now – FINALLY allowed to be grown again in the USA. However there is not yet any access to American-grown commercial hemp for use in making hemp wicks. Therefore we had to make our hemp wick in the #1 producer of hemp worldwide – China. The plants are sown, harvested, retted and dried in the traditional way, unchanged for thousands of years.
