Commissioned by the Rothschild family and delivered 1886 to their East 67th Street residence, Case custom designed and produced by Pottier & Stymus, interior designers for the Flagler Museum in Palm Beach and for the Thomas Edison estate, also designers/producers of one of the most expensive pianos ever sold, Steinway concert D #36922 in burred walnut & satinwood Fully restored by Klavierhaus in 1996 - new soundboard, pinblock, rc-pinning & restringing, hammers, hammershanks, whippens, dampers & damper felts, case repair & Lotal refinlahing, restoration of filigree, hand-painted ornamentation and oil painting mounted in front panel. Plays beautifully and is in tune. Has been in the Cow Hollow home of Shirley Ross Davis, notable San Francisco art collector and philanthropist, since 1996. Meticulously maintained.
