Description: Holiday Inn in Amarillo, Texas, on US Highway 66 Here are two different flat (staple and matches removed) front strike matchcovers from the Holiday Inn motel on Eighth Street (formerly Amarillo Blvd. and US 66 both matchcovers indicate) in Amarillo, Texas. Both matchcovers have the lightening bolt across the rear cover below the “Great Sign” and above the Innkeeper. There is no tape, glue or handwriting on the inside of either matchcover. The red matchcover has a lot of overall wear and is in fair-to-good condition. The black matchcover is in excellent unstruck condition. I have 250 US Highway 66 matchcover auctions on eBay all with opening auction bids of just $1.00. And all of the auctions have a “Buy It Now” provision for $1.45. Such a deal! These matchcovers are either common Rt. 66 covers or maybe less common covers with some wear making their value less. This is a great time to expand your Rt. 66 matchcover collection. Most of my matchcovers are front strikers and all of them are flattened and ready for your album.
