Description: Second Bubble Bookby Ralph Mayhew& Burges JohnsonPictures by Rhoda Chase Up for auction is "Second Bubble Book", written by Ralph Mayhew and Burges Johnson and illustrated by Rhoda Chase. This 16 page hard-cover book measures approximately 7.25 by 6 inches in size, and is the second book in the series of Bubble Books. It has color pictorial paper covered boards and blank end-papers, and inside are numerous full color illustrations. In addition, three of the pages are sleeves that contain single-side recording discs, with one record each for the characters' songs ("Simple Simon", "Little Bo-Peep" and "Old King Cole"). The records were made by the Columbia Graphophone Manufacturing Company, while the book itself was published by Harper & Brothers, of New York, in 1918. The hard cover book is in great vintage condition, given its age, with no missing pages, no writing on any of the pages (with the exception of a gift inscription, in ink, at the top of the front free end-paper), and minimal soiling and wear (primarily to the covers, which includes bumps to the two bottom outside corners; rubbing to the edges; and some overall soiling). Internally, there is a diagonal crease to the bottom outside corner of the first page that has text; a 0.75 inch tear near the top of one of the sleeves; and a 1.25 inch split along the outside edge of another one of the sleeves. All three records appear to be in great vintage condition as well, with no breaks or visible scratches. However, I do not have a turntable to play the records on, so I am unable to verify their actual condition.Terms: All sales final. Paypal only. I will ship USPS mail.
