Pillars formed on the territory of the Siberian platform under the influence of the huge differences of the annual temperatures and water penetration. Lena Pillars separated by steep ravines and deep river valleys. There are such notable sites in the park as the “tukulan” sands (dunes) with cold northern areas of sandy desert, camps of primitive man in the mouth of the creek Deering Yuryakh, unique permafrost ecosystems. July 2, 2012 a Natural Park “Lena Pillars” was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
