Description: Simply Striking Victorian parlor lamp with white roses....c. 1900....unmarked, other than the "Meteor" font, however I suspect it was made by Consolidated Lamp & Glass Company....measures 22" to the top of its 9 1/2" ball shade....the white roses are actually unpainted glass with the details painted in/around....front and back decoration are very similar, though slightly different due to being hand-painted....the background color is hard to describe....to my eyes appears to be somewhere between magenta and burgundy....excellent, clean condition....I cleaned the glass inside and out and it shines nicely....glass is excellent with no damage or repair, just the usual minor roughness around the shade fitter edge from the original manufacture and 125 years of display....the magenta background paint has some minor splotchiness from many years of cleaning and fades to brown in areas, mostly around the top of the shade and around the bottom of the lower/base globe, however the background paint is so vivid that it is amazing it isn't worse than it is....the "Meteor" font came with the lamp when I purchased it and may or may not be original....font tank is excellent, however the chimney prongs had extensions soldered to them many years ago (one missing) and the flame spreader is missing....no chimney....please study all photos, feel free to ask questions, and be sure to check out my other interesting antique auctions!
