Signed "Barnes". -Description: This is the original artwork for the August 20, 1956 daily comic strip THE BETTER HALF by Bob Barnes (1913-1970). The strip found humor in the trials and tribulations of a married couple, Stanley and Harriet Parker. This daily panel features the main characters visiting some friends. Harriet makes one of her usual snarky comments, this time about Stanley's jacket. Caption written in pencil in bottom margin. A cute gag nicely rendered from the second month of the strip (which began on June 25, 1956). BR Condition: -The art is in very good overall condition. Moderate age/handling wear. Corner/edge creases. Staple holes to corners. Zip-A-Tone is all intact. Glue residue to lower area of panel (where typed caption is missing). Pencil notes to reverse.
