Description: The Ginger Man by J.P. Donleavy, Introduction by Arland Ussher, New York: McDowell-Obolensky, Revised Ed, First American Edition, 1958, 1st Printing, 327 pages. Overall, the book is in good condition. The dust jacket has wear, chippings, and tears. The dust jacket is covered with protective mylar. The front inside endsheets has a stamp ex libris. Also on the top of the page, someone tried to scratch off ink writing, maybe a name, and also someone remove I believe an address stamp. The stamp seemed to have bled into the back of the endsheet. On the back endsheets, there is a pencil writing Albion Lib DE 11/19/80. The pages throughout are foxed and endsheets are faded and toned. The top edge is dyed red. Please review all photos carefully for exact condition! The hardcovers are black with embossed graphics on the front cover and gold lettering and graphic on the spine. Good Reads says, "First published in Paris in 1955 and originally banned in America, J. P. Donleavy's first novel is now recognized the world over as a masterpiece and a modern classic of the highest order. Set in Ireland just after World War II, The Ginger Man is J. P. Donleavy's wildly funny, picaresque classic novel of the misadventures of Sebastian Dangerfield, a young American ne'er-do-well studying at Trinity College in Dublin. Dangerfield's appetite for women, liquor, and general roguishness is insatiable--and he satisfies it with endless charm."PLEASE SEE MY OTHER AUCTIONS AS I WILL COMBINE SHIPPING!
