Description: Item Is in VERY GOOD Condition. It has very little shelf wear. The pages inside are in very good shape with no highlighting, marks, or writing; no dog-earing or bent pages. The laminated cover is in good shape with no scratches or tears; minimal to no fraying along the edges, but there is a bit more wear on the bottom edges and foot and crown of the spine from shelf rubbing. There is one small frayed corner on the bottom front, and one on the top back edge; these are not obtrusive or very visible. There is no crease along the spine; the spine binding is tight, no loose pages, and in good shape. There is a Cal Tech sticker on the back; removing it would damage the cover, so it is left on. (please see pictures as they are part of the description). Overall in very good condition. This book is a history and economic resource describing the economic development of Europe and China during the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries, during the Industrial Revolution. It explains the origins of capitalism and argues that Europe had cheap available sources of coal which allowed Europe to Surpass East Asia in economic growth, among many other cogent and well argued points.
