Description: Graeme Wilkie Vases. Two miniature stoneware vases by the renowned potter Graeme Wilkie, wheel-thrown in asymmetric organic forms prior to wood-firing. The result is two wonderful pots in mushroom shades. His impressed stamp is low down, near the base of each. Wilkie specialises in technically challenging woodfire ceramics, often large-scale, sculptural and composite in form. In 1988, he established a new studio on his Lorne property, calling it Qdos. The studio has a 9 metre long Anagama kiln that is fired twice a year with the help of students and visiting artists. Size: respectively 10 & 9.5 cm high Condition: excellent vintage condition, with both showing some age-related crazing; no chips or cracks. While I do my best to reproduce the true colours of the pieces, they will vary slightly from system to system, and in actual viewing they will vary under differing lighting.
