Born in 1897 in Poltava; maternal, among other things - a descendant member of the Poltava Battle (from the Swedish side), the very "passionate Schlippenbach" who surrendered to Peter I. In 1921 A.I.Shargey, a former tsarist officer, then the White Guard army for fear of reprisals, changes name (however, this did not save him from conviction in 1931 for "sabotage"). Yet in 1919 he wrote his first work on the space program, where, regardless of the original method of Tsiolkovsky deduced the basic equation of the rocket. In 1929 he published in Novosibirsk at their own expense 2,000 copies the book "The conquest of interplanetary space," which anticipated many of the ideas for further development of cosmonautics. As they calculated the trajectory, the so-called "Kondratyuka track" traveled in flying American astronauts to the moon.
