Rutherford NJ started racing in 1938, raced at most E Coast tracks, joined the “Pappy” Hough 5 man racing team (Little Iron Pigs) in the 40’s advanced to the 1952 Indy 500 driving the Bowe’s “Seal Fast Special” finished 5th and received the first Indy 500 “Rookie of the Year” Award. Included with this award is a copy of a Kingsbridge Armory program with Art Cross’s photo on the cover and his racing biography. Being offered: From the Kingsbridge Armory, Bronx NY Speed Drone, this first place trophy from a race held on April 5th 1947, Car #81. Measures 14" tall with a 6" x 6" metal gold tone base. The plaque is not engraved but there is a dated piece of white tap on the inside. Offered as-is "TROPHY ONLY" A nice addition to any East Coast racing collection.
