Description: NICKNICKSELLINGSTUFF All orders mail out within 24 hours of payment. DESCRIPTION: Selmer USA Omega Model 162.Serial number is 8214XX.Produced by the Selmer Company in the 1980s.Hand built in the United States as a true quality professional saxophone. These first Omega saxes were designed as pro-quality horns. One of the best professional saxophones Selmer ever produced in the USA.These were referred to as the “American Mark VI”.It reminded me of the Mark VI tenor even though it is an alto.Owned by me since it was brand new back in 1982/1983.Played it for so many, many years (my primary gig horn).Eventually I wanted a change and went to a different brand a few years back.Kept this one around as a spare or in case I wanted to play it again.I have something else I like now and so I'm finally letting this one go.Comes with the original case. That is the original lacquer (whatever is left of it).Much of it is now gone and changed color.NOTE: I did glue a rubber piece to the High-D Palm Key.You can take that off if you want. For me, it helped me with my technique when playing those notes.I'm like the only person who ever did that, I guess. LOL. Vintage Condition. Definitely has been used a huge amount but still ready for battle!I loved it, but eventually it was time for a change. All notes play well from the bottom of the horn to the top.All the keys work exactly the way they should. All the pads look decent, so you won't need those for a while. It can be played just the way it is, but you could get a tune up on it.Has a dent on the bottom of the horn (see photo 11).Since it is on the bottom, nobody sees it; and that's the only one.Missing one screw on the Key Guard Screw for the low D# (photo 11).It doesn't move but you could put another screw there.I will pack it up well to try to keep it in its same playing condition.Having said that, it may need some adjustment after shipping. The one thing it does need is a good cleaning.Look at the photos well for those dirtier areas.I wiped it down, but it could use more extensive cleaning than that.Didn't want to take the chance on messing up its perfect playability. Case closes and latches well and holds the horn the way it should. The latches don't pop up though when clicking them to open. You have to physically pull the latch out of the hole. Both handles are makeshift but usable.Feet are still intact. The top inside cushioning needs to be glued back to the wall. When opening it, it is usually still laying on sax area. SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:Alto. *REMINDER: ALWAYS READ THE CONDITION SECTION* MORE QUESTIONS? Ask me! I am quick on the replies.
