Description: This is a stunning vintage Ormolu jewelry casket or trinket box with a beveled glass top. It is both rare and absolutely gorgeous. It's full of style and detail. The box is likely from the 1950's. It's very ornate with footed gold tone gilded metal, including the bottom, with 8 jade art glass translucent panels. Measures 4" x 3" x 3" tall. Inside the bottom of the box has a cushion covered with a soft camel colored cotton velvet - that cushion is present, but is detached from the original glue (see pictures). The hinged lid is somewhat loose, but works well and is attached. On the exterior of the hinge there is a flange that is slightly bent outward. I'm not sure if this should rest right up against the hinge, but may be a reason why it is somewhat loose - It's likely possible that this flange could be shifted upwards to better secure the hinge during opening, although I have not tried for fear of damaging. I've included a video and photos to show this, but feel free to message if you have any additional questions. The lid is clear glass, beveled on the edge with no scratches, chips, or damage of any sort. All the art glass jade panels are perfect as well. The gold guilt is bright and has minimal color wear. This is a spectacular and special piece you will want for your collection! Any questions just ask. Will ship with extra care. C
