Vintage RARE 1940's American C-6 crystal microphone harp mic w Astatic stand

Description: Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at a unique and rare 1940's era American C-6 model crystal microphone made in Los Angeles, California. This particular model has no identification in the form of an actual badge as they came this way but in pic # 9 you can clearly see the decal used at that time on many of Americans smaller mics. This mic comes with the period Astatic desk stand shown. This mic was originally intended for home recording and broadcasting purposes. Pic # 2 is from an old catalog I have showing the mic and it's basic specs. The microphone has been tested but no longer works as the crystal element is dead. One can always replace this element for something that works of course. These actually make great harp mics when retro fitted as they are small and easy to grasp in the hand. Overall a decent example of an early American C-6 model microphone despite the heavy wear. The body shows a lot of tiny pitting in the chrome body but it's free of any dents or engravings. The black cloth screen is dark and free of any rips or holes. Mic has all original screws and components. I would give it a solid 5 + on a scale of 1 - 10. This mic has a great working joint mechanism with plenty of tension and rotates forward and backwards depending on the users needs. The mic takes an Amphenol 5/8 X 27 cable which is not provided but are easy to locate if needed. MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS PART OF THIS SALE... The stand is a late 1930's to 1940's Astaic desk stand with a painted metal base and wood handle in a satin black finish. The base is a stock hammered gray color and in good overall condition with typical small scratches and scuffs. The handle actually twists off the base with a half turn making it easy for the user to walk around with the mic in his hand. The base makes for a good stable platform. The measurements with stand and mic are appx 8 inches in height X 5 inches wide. This would make a cool display piece anywhere in the home, office or studio. As with all my vintage items...
