Description: VINTAGE R.H. RUANA HUNTING KNIFE~ WITH CUSTOM PERIOD SHEATH ~ESTATE ITEM To my bidders: For years I have done business on eBay using the name: gpstorageco*. The items I will be selling from this point on are being sold from my estate and from the estates of friends and relatives. Due to eBay rules there will be No International Shipping for this item. This Vintage Ruana Hunting belonged to my friends father who was a WWII Veteran and who passed away in the 1980's . He was a accomplished hunter who often hunted in Colorado, Wyoming & Montana. This blade has been in storage since the 1980's and was found with his vintage hunting gear just recently. This vintage R.H. Ruana hunting knife is clean overall but shows use and hasn't been cleaned or messed with since found after 40+ years of storage (see photos). The knife's blade appears lightly sharpened long ago and still has a very sharp edge now. The blade measures 4.5 inches from tip to crossguard and is mostly graying overall (see photos). The blade's top edge has a few serrations just below the crossguard (see photos). The grip is aluminum with stag side panels that are attached with rivets (see photos). The grip is marked with the maker (R.H. Ruana - Bonner, Montana and has a "M" stamp - see photos). The scabbard found with the knife is very sturdy and is made of thick leather and has large brass or copper rivets all around the edge (see photos). The rivets haven't been cleaned and each has some level of verdigris (see photos). The sheath fits the blade nicely, the blade seats well and the sheath is unmarked anywhere I can see. There is a leather tie to the leather upper to secure the knife in place (see photos). This R.H. Ruana hunting knife is the real deal. It is a true vintage knife that will clean up well if desired (see photos). It would be excellent for display with an advanced custom knife collection and is guaranteed to be an original period piece as described. I have attached a photo (not included) of my friends father hunting out West in the 1950's - he was the real deal too.
