Description: Large, Vintage Italian Art Glass Bowl Description and Item Information Up for sale is this stunning, vintage Murano art glass bowl. Please excuse the glare in the photos. The glass was executed in a technique similar to sfumato or polveri. The yellow and orange color patches are a bit coarser than a fine polveri (dust). It also has tiny bullicante (bubbles) and metallic gold inclusions. This bowl has an applied, clear glass foot which has a rough pontil area. This piece measures approximately 4 1/2 inches tall by 11 7/8 inches long by 8 1/4 inches wide. Unpacked, it weighs approximately 7 pounds 4.0 ounces. This would be a rare addition to a collection of vintage Venetian art glass. Identification This vintage piece is unsigned Murano art glass, attributed to Archimede Seguso. Condition This piece looks good overall, with no cracks or chips. This piece has wear from use; there are abundant scratches to the interior, which are fine enough that bright light is needed to make them show, but this piece would likely benefit from a professional polishing (I have priced it in consideration of this). There is a scattered, minor scratch or scuff here or there to the exterior. The base has wear scratches, as expected for vintage glass. As made, there is variation in the distribution of color patches / gold inclusions; there are small areas where the concentration of color or inclusions is less.
