A suit like this one would definitely have been in Claire Standish's closet! Parisian was an upscale department store in Alabama; it was in business at least as early as the 1960s and possibly earlier. Parisian stores no longer exist, but I remember some mall locations still in existence during the 90s. This very well constructed women's 2-piece suit feels like wool, and from what I know about the brand I am confident that it likely is 100% wool. However, please keep in mind that I do not have a way to test the fiber content so I cannot fully guarantee that my intuition is correct. There is no fiber content tag, which likely identifies this as an older suit; the zipper is plastic or nylon, which would date it post-1965. It is constructed with a level of craftsmanship that is uncommon by today's standards, including details that in times past were expected but today are considered extra. The absence of tags (with the exception of branding) may indicate that this is a custom made suit. There are also no size tags, which also may be an indication that this was a custom tailored suit.
