Description: This Woodburytype portrait of Anthony Trollope and the accompanying biographical notice appeared originally in the volume Men of Mark, third series, 1878, published in London by Sampson Low, Marsten et al.. Trollope was one of the most prolific and popular novelists of the Victorian era. The pages are stiff with age, but they are in good shape. There is foxing on the mount--particularly a spot above Trollope, to the right--as well as a light smudge on the mount's right edge, as you can see in the images listed. Likewise there is some light foxing on the biographical notice, and there is a nick in the upper left corner of that page. The wonderful image of Trollope is in excellent condition.
