Description: WW 1, hat, wide brim known as the Montana hat. Worn up to beginning of WW I when it was replaced by side cap. No stitching faults. One mark on underside of brim. I think it is removeable. This is officers cap as signified by cap braid with is in very good condition. Chin strap is absent., Strap slits are visible on each side at base of hat. Leather sweat band. Shows sign of good use. Size marker on sweat band shows 6 2/8. No makers mark. Although there is no makers mark I,m comfortable that this is an original piece. Good leather sweat band, well used. Size marker typical of the period. Full refund if you are not satisfied that this is an original piece. I feel lucky to get this original at a reasonable.
