Description: Original WWI, pattern 1908, Canadian Calvary Sabre Sword and Scabbard. Made in 1916. I'm extremely curious about the hole in the hilt's guard ... this sword quite possibly took a bullet in battle. It appears at some point that someone decided to paint the scabbard and guard on the hilt. Once paint stripped/removed, I would imagine it's value would greatly increase. Very minimal pitting on blade. I'm in the process of moving and simply don't have the time or space to strip and remove the paint.
