Description: This is a beautiful bayonet. It has a very good factory blade edge with some minor wear, a pointy tip, and lots of great markings. Very clean overall. The blade has a medium gray finish with some minor surface wear and some minor spots of surface patina / darkening. Stamped: 1907 6 16 SANDERSON on one side and several British stampings on the other. The wood handle is secure with some minor surface wear. It is a medium brown color with some dark spots. No cracks. The pommel looks great with some minor wear. It has a gray finish with some darker areas. The push button works as expected. There is a little surface wear on the metal at the top of the handle. The underside looks great. The guard looks great and it has a gray finish with some darker areas and some minor wear. The scabbard is in great condition as well. The leather if strong and firm with minor surface wear. It is a dark color. The metal hardware is in great condition, is secure and has some minor finish wear with no dents or dings. It is partially stamped “B.H.G. 1943”. The maker is Barrow, Hepburn & Gale Ltd. They were a tannery, so would have made the leather body. Fully functional.
