Description: WWII 105mm / 155mm ARTILLERY SHELL LIFTING RING This auction is for ONE WWII 2" diameter artillery shell lifting ring. The solid iron lifting rings are found on the Mojave Desert with other WWII artillery items where they were discarded after being used more than 80+ years ago. They have what I call a "Desert Patina". The heavy artillery shells were crated on pallets, and the lifting rings screwed into the nose cavity so they could be lifted. Makes a great, unusual addition to your military collection, or use as a paperweight. Can easily be cleaned up and painted the color of the shells they were screwed in to (HE, AP, Chemical, etc.).
